Green Pig Bistro, a 2012 Washingtonian Top 100 restaurant, serves French-Southern fusion cuisine and emphasizes locally-sourced ingredients. I started as a Host, where I managed guest relations, reservations and the general flow the restaurant. After five months, I was promoted to Server, where I maintained service standards, and recommended food and beverages to maximize both sales and guest satisfaction. During this time, I began an individual in-depth study of wine and beer, passing the Introductory Sommelier Exam in May 2013, and earning the Certified Beer Server title in July 2013.

I worked on a three-person team that planned, promoted and coordinated the Alliance's annual National Charter Schools Conference. I developed marketing materials, redesigned and wrote content for the conference website, sourced conference speakers, and researched the charter school movement. I also designed and implemented a nationwide student art and essay contest to promote understanding of charter schools among K-8 students.

As a peer tutor, I worked with an emphasis on collaborative learning. Working with GWU undergraduate, graduate, law and medical students, I facilitated improvement in their writing through review of written work, discussion and coaching.

The BRIDGE Project aims to better connect services in Washington DC with those that need them. As a team member, I established and nurtured partnerships with the DC Public Library and Street Sense, a DC newspaper written and sold by individuals experiencing or who formerly experienced homelessness. I also collaborated on an article about The BRIDGE Project that was published in Street Sense in March 2011.
