I'm currently working in digital product development focusing on on-demand audio and email newsletters. I conduct research to help develop new products and best practice, working with teams to develop their skills in content production. I also undertake technical editor work to help update and maintain a suite of radio station websites.In my first position with the ABC I focused on sub-editing content for the ABC News website and helping to manage a social media account.

My main duty is overseeing the editorial component of the Gladstone Observer daily newspaper's website, which involves homepage editing, uploading content, moderating comments, providing rolling coverage during major events, handling breaking news, and selecting/producing content for the website. I’m also involved in overseeing The Observer’s Facebook page. I use analytics tools including Google Analytics and Chartbeat.

Designer and sub-editor for a number of regional daily newspapers. I also worked on special projects, producing travel and employment supplements, and produced the company's quarterly staff magazine.

Senior reporter at The Queensland Times daily newspaper, covering a variety of rounds including Local Government, State Government and general news. I also did regular shifts as Sunday editor, acting chief of staff and night sub-editor.

Newspaper designer and sub-editor for the Queensland Times daily newspaper, responsible for the paper’s weekend feature section, TV guide, special features and day pages. I also did a stint as production editor. Duties included the co-ordination of eight sub-editing staff, assigning tasks, responsibility for ensuring deadlines were met, rostering, layout and design of news pages, selection of news priorities and helping to plan each issue.

Editor of The Ipswich Advertiser, a weekly newspaper delivered to 32,000 homes. Duties included the co-ordination of staff, selection of news priorities, planning and organisation of each issue, sub-editing, design and writing news reports.
