I have been freelancing as a graphic designer for the past 3 years, with a mix of new and recurring clients. Freelancing allows me the flexibility to work on a huge variety of design jobs, anywhere from entire rebranding campaigns, to tender & EOI submissions. Freelancing comes with a lot of challenges and has really taken my abilities as a designer to the next level and forced me to be across all aspects of a design job - from creativity and interpreting a design brief through to producing technically high level finished art. Most of my freelance work has been within branding and marketing collateral which has definitely been the most rewarding design work of my career.

Scott Carver is an integrated architecture firm based in Sydney. As the Submissions Coordinator and in-house graphic designer at Scott Carver, I designed tender submissions, marketing collateral, pitch presentations and social media content adhering to the brand guidelines. A large part of my role here was redesigning our marketing collateral templates, cleaning up master pages and paragraph styles to create a cohesive and well organised set of branded templates. Unfortunately this role was cut short due to the global Coronavirus pandemic, but I gained a wealth of experience in my short term with Scott Carver.

Australian Venue Company (AVC) is a Victoria based international hospitality company AVC. I began with AVC at The Rook (April 2017 - Jan 2018) where I was wait staff supervisor at the rooftop burger & cocktail bar. In January 2018 I was transferred to House of Crabs, Redfern where I was made Restaurant & Bar Manager or the seafood restaurant. From May 2018 I also worked as the Sydney FOH Staff Trainer, training all new Front of House floor staff to join any of the 16 AVC venues within Sydney. In this role I was in charge of coordinating and leading a fortnightly training day covering company policies and standards, OH&S, workplace safety and legislation, team building, sales, complaint handling and service standards as well as an in depth class containing wine tasting, beer tasting and cocktail & bar training. My most valued time with AVC was organising the events and promotions while managing House of Crabs restaurant. Within this role I worked closely with the marketing team, writing all design and marketing briefs for promotional events and creating social media content and collateral. I also designed all of the menus and wrote the style guide for the House of Crabs branding. These roles gave me a wealth of experience in team management, running high pressure events, meeting deadlines and understanding a brand, but it was my time within this role that really made me want to be on the other side of the design briefs!
