Phipps Neighborhoods is a $20M non-profit social service organization executing on a mission to help New Yorkers rise above poverty. More than 45 programs spanning education, career development, housing, collective impact, civic engagement, and community resources. I championed a flexible, total stakeholder, mission-oriented approach to achieving outcomes in service of our community. Alongside the Executive Team, we ensured stability during the transition of our long-time CEO during interim period and onboarding new hire. We responded to COVID-19 with a human-first strategy to support staff and community members and safely continue program operations, identify and implement technology solutions, and pivot to meet immediate needs as part of our crisis response. Our team enacted strategies to identify, process, and address institutional racism and systemic inequity. Under my direction, the Development and Communications department motivated leadership to achieve record-breaking success culminating in a 30% increase in private fundraising revenue, including more than $1.7M during the COVID-19 pandemic. Across the organization, we utilized a growth mindset in process improvement and using data to enhance program quality and improve community outcomes. In partnership with Children’s Aid I served as Co-Senior Advisor to South Bronx Rising Together, a collective impact organization serving the South Bronx.

Samaritan Daytop Village is one of NY’s largest non-profit providers of substance abuse and transitional housing services with more than 50 programs and a budget of $200M. I guided multi-disciplinary teams through historic expansion with the acquisition of Veritas Therapeutic Community, Renaissance Project, Narco Freedom, and Daytop Village, Inc. programs, more than doubling the size of the agency. Led teams in conducting contracting, purchasing, budget forecasting, collaborative problem-solving, and execution of deliverables with the NYS Department of Health, OASAS, Managed Care Companies, Health Homes, Performing Provider Systems, and HRA/DSS. I developed programs and partnerships, increasing cross-department collaboration resulting in improved coordination of care, re-positioning services to adapt to a changing funding environment and ensure long-term viability. Maintained integrity through periods of leadership transition by empowering staff through iterative development of strategies, stakeholder management, and communications plans. Advised on changes to legally-mandated organizational processes of quality improvement, human resources management, HIPAA compliance, and incident reporting, innovating systems to align with best practices and changes in governance. Created successful requests for funding of over $10M from various Federal, State, City, Foundation, and Private sources; advancing health, behavioral health, housing, and social service programs. Built the Managers Leadership Academy, increasing promotion, decreasing Manager attrition 50%.

Veritas Therapeutic Community is a non-profit community based organization with four substance abuse treatment programs.I led the state-supervised crisis response after CEO removal as Chief of Staff to transitional CEO. Oversaw operations of the organization through leadership transition and merger. Assumed key management functions including Quality Assurance, Human Resources, facilities and systems management to support ongoing uninterrupted service delivery. Managed the Merger Committee from proposal to transfer of ownership, ensuring continuous service delivery to clients and continuity of staff. Won funding from public and private sources totaling more than $5M.

The White House Project is a non-partisan non-profit advancing women’s leadership with political and communications training. I was responsible for our national fundraising events strategy, raising more than $1.5M annually. I produced the annual gala at The United Nations and The American Museum of Natural History, as well as impactful multi-day conferences, including Women Rule! For O, the Oprah Magazine and Vote, Run, Lead’s national nonpartisan political leadership training for women.

Directed all aspects of production for large mission-driven events with significant C-level/VIP/celebrity collaboration. Produced events for The MENTOR Network, One Family Scholars, Boston Center for Community and Justice, Families First, and the New England Holocaust Memorial.

Hired to respond to unanticipated growth and improve output through implementation of new systems and workflows designed to scale. Fundraising efforts ballooned to raise more than $20M for the DNC leading up to the 2004 presidential election. Negotiated and monitored continually fluctuating budgets, accounting, and leases for more than 80 Grassroots Campaigns fundraising offices, as well as a fleet of 500 rental vehicles nationwide during the 2004 Presidential Campaign. Implemented new systems and standardized processes, increasing central fiscal office productivity threefold.

Administrator for Operations Planning Committee during construction of Boston Center for the Arts (BCA), managing communications and project management deliverables. Authored the Huntington Theatre Designer’s Technical Handbook and BCA’s Renter’s Guide to the Theatre Pavilion.
