I have spent most of my career in the retail sector, working for a number of leading South African retailers, including Mr Price Home, Edgars, Toys R Us and Game. My last position was Specialist Retail Buyer for Edgars Beauty where I successfully launched luxury brands on the Edgars Beauty website (Tom Ford, Jo Malone London, Armani Prive, Carolina Herrera Collection). Collaborated in introducing social media influencers as part of the marketing strategy, specifically on Facebook and Instagram. This included local celebrities, which increased Edgars Beauty visibility in the market significantly.My product knowledge covers everything from luxury brands, toys, textiles and furnishings, clothing, homeware and lighting. In those roles I’ve had to develop an understanding of procurement, logistics, marketing, advertising, and ecommerce. My roles have interacted with various different departments and suppliers.I’ve needed to be organized and disciplined, planning months in advance, anticipating potential problems and coming up with solutions when things sometimes go wrong.Retail is challenging , but I enjoy a challenge and the satisfaction when a plan comes together!I’m always looking to grow my network, so please reach out to me here.
