At First American Title, I built a team that conducts customer outreach, market analysis, and competitive ecosystem studies for a portfolio of IT products and services targeting housing industry professionals (b2b, pre-b2c). Ours was the first of its kind at this venerable Fortune 500 institution. I'm proud to have created something that will continue to grow and succeed beyond my initial efforts. At the core of my team's product marketing research and strategy model is a robust multi-channel feedback loop with key metrics accountability. We challenge perceptions against behaviors, sift through qualitative insights, and apply quantitative results to get the maximum value out of feedback. Producing customer-obsessed data insights and advising successful strategic roadmapping is just the most recent layer of an 18-year career in marketing and branding communications. The standout achievement during this phase of my professional development is managing and training colleagues of varying experience and skills. Although they lacked prior exposure to product marketing, customer experience feedback, or research and analytics disciplines, we found a pathway for everyone to contribute while learning-by-doing. The intersectionality of product marketing and customer experience is an emerging practice with a long-term impact on organizational success. Recognizing this, I also founded a community of excellence at First American focused on the use of technologies needed for product management and product marketing. Collaboration and alignment are crucial to reaching objectives and delivering positive outcomes, but they're also personally rewarding activities!
