In two short years, I intiated the transformation from book warehouse to literacy partner by:- Moving the warehouse from an unsafe building with unsanitary working conditions to an easily accessible warehouse with secure pallet racks and increased safety and security for staff,- Developing a book inventory system to ensure zero book leakage into domestic market,- Implementing a staff evaluation process,- Leading a donated book acquisition, usage and distribution workshop at Pan-African Reading Association conference in Botswana (2011).These changes resulted in immediate improvements, including:- attracting additional book publisher partners who appreciated the inventory system's reporting options that track books from incoming pallets to outgoing ports,- increasing IBB's book donations to developing countries from 1.7 to 2.8 million per year,- doubling the number of partner/sponsor organizations in developing countries,- increasing cash donations by 130%.
