The Advocacy and Communications team is the "voice" of She's the First and provides girls with all the tools they need to advocate for themselves and their peers.The Director of Advocacy & Communications protects the integrity of the She’s the First brand by cultivating values-based messaging, overseeing external communications, and ensuring that our ambassadors and advocacy partners share our values of being girl-centered and anti-oppressive.External Communications- Create engaging communication strategies for advocacy campaign launches, programmatic announcements, and new partnerships to increase web traffic, build brand awareness, and achieve engagement KPIs- Created the organization’s Values-Based Communication Policy and oversees its implementation, and ensures that all communications honor the organization’s Girl Engagement Policy- Support the Programs and Development teams with major communications initiatives via creative direction and strategy- Develop stories by collaborating with our local partners to highlight STF's impact- Act as creative director for freelance photographers, videographers, and artists.Organizational Advocacy- Created the Girl Activist Fellowship, a project-based learning model, where girls learn by planning and executing an advocacy campaign for their peers on the global stage. These campaigns are elevated as the organization's annual advocacy campaigns.- Work with peer organizations and alliances to bolster girls' rights through campaigns and endorsing legislation.- Set strategy for growth and development of our Girl-Led Advocacy programming.
