Day to Day activities include working with Lead engineers on creating routes and collecting a series of route data to build fiber routes for data transmission within the AEP network. In the 7 years, I have learned to work with CAD programs to create/update CAD drawings (fiber details, electrical drawings) for the different fiber and light wave projects. This CAD and GIS work has also entailed developing and utilizing standards across the GIS design group. In the years working in this position, I’ve played a large roll in developing (and aiding) processes/standards among the overall group to ensure the work flow of the different projects go smoothly and everyone is able to get the information they need for their task in a timely manner; so projects stay on time and in budget.

Lectured course labs each week to students and held office hours for appointments outside of lecture.Prepared presentations on material where I utilized my presentation and communication skills, and continued to build upon them. Further duties included working with professors by volunteering to guest lecture and proctor classes/exams.

While interning with NASA DEVELOP, research was conducted on wildfires in the Mexico state of Coahuila. To conduct this research, fire models, FARSITE and Prometheus, were used to predict past and future wildfires within Coahuila. This research was presented during the NASA DEVELOP Closeout Summer 2013 to a diverse group of individuals. After the internship, my colleagues presented the research at the ASPRS Conference, where it was published. Attending this internship allowed me to enhance my communication and presentation skills when working with a diversity of individuals.
