Katelyn is the Manager of Conservation Programs for Georgia Aquarium's Research & Conservation Center for Species Survival (CSS). She manages, supports, and participates in a variety of marine conservation projects, including facilitating and participating in species conservation workshops, conducting and contributing to IUCN Red List and Green Status assessments for species, collaborating with partner organizations to advance marine species conservation efforts, and supporting new and ongoing research projects. Previously, she was a Project Manager for Georgia Aquarium's Research & Conservation department, overseeing a cooperative agreement study with the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) to study spatial and temporal overlap of oceanic manta rays with BOEM's Marine Mineral Program's dredging and trawling activities. In her previous role, she was also an active member of the IUCN Shark Specialist Group's (SSG) Global Shark Trends Project (GSTP) which assessed 1,199 species of elasmobranchs against the IUCN Red List.
