In the Adult Acute Care Concentration of the Children's Hospital Colorado Dietetic Internship Program, I had the opportunity to work with many Registered Dietitians on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora CO, including: University of Colorado Hospital, Children's Hospital Colorado, Colorado State Veteran's Home, and the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes.Rotations provided extensive clinical experience in both adult and pediatric populations, inpatient and outpatient settings, including: long-term care, general medicine, diabetes, oncology, renal, weight management, bone marrow transplant, solid organ transplant, medical ICU, burn/trauma ICU, neurosurgical ICU, and staff relief. I am well-versed in the Nutrition Care Process, assessing and educating critically ill patients, and documenting patient charts using Epic electronic medical records technology at two hospitals. A Quality Improvement project on identifying malnutrition in the adult hospitalized patient has given me invaluable knowledge and experience in this prominent and important topic. Individual topic presentations, QI presentations, and Nutrition Education to Professionals projects have allowed me to hone my public speaking and communication skills.

As a volunteer for the Food Bank of Larimer County, I assisted in both the Kid's Cafe and the Food Share programs. In the Kid's Cafe, I helped make lunches and dinners to be distributed throughout the county to kids in need of a home-cooked meal. For the Food Share program, I helped sort and stock produce to be set out for those in need of immediate hunger assistance.

As a Title 33 commissioned Colorado State Parks Special Recreation Ranger I enforced Park and Wildlife regulations and patrolled along 150 miles of the Arkansas River corridor from Leadville to Pueblo. I was responsible for educating the public regarding those regulations and for providing information about recreational opportunities in the area. Assisted in administering special use agreements for outfitters within the recreation area. Restocked park passes and camp permits at self-service pay stations, maintained pass inventory records, and produced weekly campground reservation reports. In charge of posting camper reservations at each of our six campgrounds and ensuring they were accurate and up to date. Completed incident reports documenting accidents and criminal activity. Kept daily logs of patrol activities and wrote case reports for all citations issued. Responded to emergency situations in and along the river. Resolved conflicts daily between a variety of user groups while meeting deadlines for field and reservation reports.
