I am Partner in our specialist construction PI team in RPC's Bristol office. I specialise in defendant professional negligence, specifically claims against construction professionals (including contractors, architects, engineers, quantity surveyors) and claims against property professionals (building surveyors, valuers, managing / letting agents). I have expertise in a wide range of dispute resolution including adjudication and mediation. I regularly provide seminars and training on current legal issues, risk management and coverage for insurers, brokers and insureds. I assist the RICS on risk management and provide training as part of their CPD programme for surveyors across the UK.I work for a range of clients, from large insurers to brokers to corporates from whom we receive direct instructions.Experience includes:A multimillion pound professional negligence renewables claim involving the development of a number of solar farmsAdvising in relation to the defence of a claim against a specialist piling contractor in respect of a high profile harbour project involving the construction of cofferdams in the sea. Providing coverage advice for multiple insurers with a focus on architects and design and construct policies. Defending a QS in an adjudication involving alleged negligence in respect of the construction of a prominent car showroom. Advising a firm of architects in relation to a claim arising out of a refurbishment of a mixed use development and allegations relating to M&E issues.Defending valuation claims brought by lenders against surveyors.Acting for property managers in respect of a wide range of contractual and statutory claims brought by tenants.
