During the three years with Sierra Blanca ISD, she then wanted to advance her career and education by completing her Master’s in Special Education and Early Childhood Developmental Disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorders at the University of Texas at Permian Basin and graduated in 2014. . While I worked towards my master’s I advanced in my career and became an Instructional Specialist for the special education department for Socorro ISD, from 2013-2016, for the second largest public school district in El Paso, TX. During my time as an instructional specialist, my duties included district wide and campus training to administrators, special education teachers, and teacher assistants. The training topics included, curriculum, evidence-based strategies, non-violent crisis prevention intervention, Special Education law, accommodations and modifications.
