I had the opportunity to co-host Intervention and Referral Services (I&RS) meetings for students with academic, behavioral, and/or attendance issues. Also, I worked with parents and students during the transition to online learning due to the effects of COVID-19 to ensure students had access to sufficient technology and necessary resources. This internship gave me an in-depth look into school social work, providing me with the opportunity to aquire a plethora of new skills. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the staff and students, who have taught me invaluable lessons about compassion, empathy, leadership, and the greater social work field.
