Kathy has exceptional singing, songwriting and musicaltalents with a natural country-girl emotion.Kathy released her debut EP “Kathy Lee – Wayward Angel’ (recorded by NashChambers) in 1998. The release of ‘Wayward Angel’ led to Kathy being chosento support Lee Kernaghan on several ‘Pass The Hat Around’ concertsthroughout Queensland (1998) and to tour work with Kernaghan throughNorthern NSW (1999). Her strong distinctive vocals and extraordinarysongwriting made the EP a breath of fresh air with an individual approach toCountry Music.In June 2001 Kathy released her second EP, ‘Wildflowers’ (recorded by DashMcIvor). The single release from her EP ‘Falling Apart’, immediately chartedon Australian Music Top 30, making it to number 19 and receiving extensiveairplay. ‘Falling Apart’ won the Queensland Recording Association Award (the‘Sunnies’) for ‘Best Song – Country 2001’. ‘Baby It’s You’ (from the WaywardAngel EP) was a Top 5 Finalist in the same category. Kathy was also a Top 5finalist in the Coopers Gold Saddle Award. “Nominations for the award arechosen for their outstanding ability as independent artists” by the CMAA(Country Music Association of Australia). ‘Wildflowers’ continued to showKathy’s individuality.Kathy has played alongside and/or supported many of Australia’s top countrymusic acts including Lee Kernaghan, Kasey Chambers, John Williamson, Adam Brand,Brendon Walmsley, Sarah Storer, James Blundell, Johnny Chester, etc. Shehas been invited to attended some of the biggest Festivals and shows includingthe Mildura Country Music Festival, the Katherine Country Music Festival,Tamworth Festival concerts including ‘Farmhand’, ‘Girls with Spurs’,‘Independence Day’, etc and the ‘Bay of Islands Country Rock Festival’ in NewZealand.See https://kathyleemusic.weebly.com/
