I am a Chancellor's scholar under the Mercile J. Lee Scholars Program graduating in 2020 with a bachelor’s in Human Development and Family Studies. Courses I have taken cover a wide range of subjects ranging from Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Statistics, Public Speaking, to Parent-Child Relations.Currently, I am an undergraduate research assistant at a Nutritional Sciences lab studying the exocrine pathway. I also volunteer as a dental assistant at a nonprofit dental clinic that helps the underserved population. At the dental clinic I assist with dental procedures alongside the dentist, address patients’ concerns, take x-rays, and sterilize instruments. Aside from strengthening my dexterity, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills through lab and volunteer work, I also strengthen my leadership skills through my involvement in the Pre-dental Education & Community Service organization as treasurer. My responsibilities as treasurer include managing the organization's funds, reaching out to businesses, planning fundraising events, and working with other students to provide the best resources for pre-professionals. I am interested in helping the underserved community and bridging the gap in the health field. Therefore, I am seeking opportunities that strive to improve the well-being of others.
