My lab management duties included purchasing and equipment ordering through an online purchasing system, tracking chemical inventory through an online inventory system and extensive data entry and management in Microsoft Excel. I was also responsible for managing laboratory safety, including giving proper safety training to interns working in the lab, and ensuring lab safety compliance.

I performed research on an invasive moth species. This included designing and running experiments, as well as collecting and recording experimental data, for which I created multiple data tracking systems, with a system of spreadsheets, ID codes, and labels to keep track of insects from many different sample sites and collection dates. In addition, I scheduled field days and experimental work, and supervised multiple student interns. I also performed moth population surveys, pinned and identified insects, and maintained a laboratory colony of moths and plants.

I was employed by UC Berkeley, researching biological control of walnut plants. I maintained seedlings and insect colonies, and collected and recorded experimental data. I also independently ran experimental trials without an on-location supervisor and problem solved when faced with malfunctioning laboratory equipment.

I ran experimental trials on walnut seedlings in greenhouses, and maintained walnuts, insect colonies, and experimental plants. I pinned and identified insects, used microscopy to measure wasp tibia lengths.

I worked in in wine grape vineyards in Napa and Sonoma to research biological control of the Western Grape Leafhopper. I used microscopy to identify, sort, and count insects captured in netting.
