Hi, I'm Katie Coyle. I am an Aerospace Engineering major at the University of Central Florida, Burnett Honors College seeking an internship for Summer 2025. Additionally, I am pursuing an Accelerated Master's degree through UCF's BS-to-MS program during my undergraduate studies. During Spring 2024 and Summer 2024, I was a Component Engineering Intern at Mitsubishi Power Americas working on the manufacturing and restoration of blades in gas turbines. Through this experience I was able to collaborate with operators and engineers, add procedures to the manufacturing and repair process for damages, and gain invaluable hands-on experience. On campus, I am involved in Society of Women Engineers (SWE) as a Marketing Officer. I am responsible for creating posts to boost the involvement of our section. As a Marketing Officer for SWE, I also fundraise through designing and selling merchandise, raising approximately $7,000. I am also involved in a Panhellenic Sorority, Kappa Delta, as Director of Collegiate Facilities, Confidence Chair, and Knight-Thon Chair. These positions have allowed me to gain indispensable leadership experience, problem-solving techniques, and interpersonal skills. Being a member of Kappa Delta has allowed me to be a mentor for the Girl Scouts and fundraise for Prevent Child Abuse America and Children's Home Society in Orlando. Projects have provided me with hands-on learning experiences throughout my undergraduate experience. My favorite experience was being a member of the Payloads Team for NASA Student Launch. This project allowed me to grow in my CAD ability and my documentation skills. This project involved collaborating with the Aerostructures Team and combining multiple engineering disciplines.
