I contribute to the management of a lease portfolio of 171 stores across the national store network at Officeworks. This predominately involves looking after the exercise of option process, ensuring there is lease tenure across all stores which includes negotiating commercial agreements with landlords/property managers, creating internal memos for board approval sign off and working with solicitors in the drafting of the variation of lease or new lease documents. Additional responsibilities include managing the property leasing aspect of a Solar rollout across the network and being an escalation point for facilities matters where there is some form of complexity in various repairs and maintenance disputes.

I rotated across 8 different teams to gain exposure to the property lifecycle. Rotations included Investment Management, Lease Management, Freehold Portfolio Management, Retail Leasing and Coles Online Property. Notable projects I worked on are the management of a divestment in a non-core residential property asset, influenced the strategic direction of the Black & White Liquor Transformation rollout in terms of negotiated commercial outcomes and drove the strategic direction of a freehold site, by gaining internal approval of a leasing plan and then managed agents to secure outcomes.

My main responsibility was to complete Stable and Mature Assessments for our long-term clients under the retail arm of the insurance business.

I managed a portfolio of 34 life insurance claims in the group insurance arm of the business. Main responsibilities included assessing claims, complying with the Life Insurance Code of Practice and collaborating during Case Conferences to develop return to work strategies.
