Sole in-house graphic and web designer.Developed creative design ideas and executed concepts for Beech Acres Parenting Center, a local, well-established not for profit agency, to communicate effectively with target audiences and for community education.These included, but were not limited to, brochures, flyers, posters, pamphlets, booklets, newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, billboards, SORTA Metro bus ads, and in-store signage systems. Developed design concepts for web environment such as banner ads and promotional spots and prepared files for the host web servers. Designed and implemented temporary website, then served as consultant and designer for the website at that time. Created direct emails and other forms for web communications. Responsible for building on and modifying existing branding and successfully created design and brand standards uniting the different areas of the agency and representing overall the agency as a whole.Prepared files for printers and handled interaction and project quoting. Mainly used the Adobe Design Suites CS3 and up, in both Mac and PC environments, on and off-site. Used digital photography, scanning and retouching in project preserving historical photos helping to create a digital historical record of the Center. Used illustration, both by hand and digital, for design concepts, logo creation and program branding.Responsible for all in-house print capabilities and production, from mock-ups up to 5000 pieces, using a Konica C500 CREO professional printer. Also determined project parameters and cost leverage, and decided materials appropriate for print jobs including color breakdown and paper selection. Expert knowledge of both the design process needed for optimal project cost and efficiency and of printer itself, including instruction to others.
