Public Affairs: Work with the Rocky Mountain Research Station (RMRS) scientists on communicating their research results to professional and public audiences through media releases and social media. Prepared six science-themed reports for the annual Legislative Affairs Capitol Hill visits in July, synthesizing and highlighting RMRS scientists’ relevant research, including the preparation of the interpretation of records and inventories and the creation of maps.  Prepared and copy-edited the 70-page 2018 Deputy Chief Review Report for RMRS, researching past records and inventories of RMRS business operations, science communication, and past USDA Forest Service Research & Development visioning and strategic communication materials.  Successfully facilitated a three-day meeting for the RMRS ASK (Administrative Support Knowledge) Team of about 40 people, November 6 – 8, 2018.Science Delivery: Act as an in house, one-stop-shop communication and marketing team for the RMRS scientists (clients).  Create dynamic, engaging, and easy to understand science writing materials such as the RMRS Science You Can Use Bulletins, Science Spotlights, and Project Pages.  Serve as a Super Content Creator for the RMRS website, updating the website content using the Drupal platform and HTML coding as necessary. Work directly with RMRS scientists on the language, maps, images, and formatting that best fits their research and audiences.  Successfully organized and facilitated two field workshops/presentations along the Colorado Front Range (one near Red Feather Lakes, the other in the Pike and San Isabel National Forests) in September 2018, with over 70 participants and 15 presenters at each workshop, interpreting natural resources to a public and professional audience (land managers and other agencies) the RMRS General Technical Report 373 “Principles and Practices for the Restoration of Ponderosa Pine and Dry Mixed-Conifer Forests of the Colorado Front Range.”

 Completed a 60-page environmental history and historic context of Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) Moraine Park Campground, examining the significance of heritage sites identified and recorded, as well as the professional interpretation of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) within the environmental history. Looked specifically at the relationship between human interaction with the landscape and the introduction of exotic and invasive plant species.  Conducted historic property evaluations for the existing 15 Mission 66 era structures within the RMNP Moraine Park Campground, as well as research on non-extant historic properties within the current campground boundaries and immediately surrounding areas. Created work plans, complied with the existing budget, and met appropriate timetables communicated by the client throughout the project.  Accessed and used Compass, the Colorado Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation cultural resource database.

 Completed Determinations of Eligibility (DOEs) and National Register Nomination Forms for 13 Mission 66 era structures within Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) within an appropriate timetable. Researched, photographed, and mapped each structure to help determine its historic significance. Presented the significance of the heritage sites identified and recorded to the RMNP Resource Stewardship Division. Accessed and used Compass, the Colorado Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation cultural resource database.

 Worked on an interdisciplinary team on all aspects of invasive plant management. Identified exotic and invasive plant species and targeted them using appropriate methodology, plant monitoring, and mapping. Used ArcGIS software to map areas of introduction and compared it with previous season maps.  Planted native plants in restoration sites around the Park.  Shadowed an RMNP archaeologist during a survey of a potential backcountry site, learning to walk transects, photograph and take GPS points of artifacts, and interpret the landscape and land use of the area.

Conducted extensive research for one lecture per semester, over four semesters, including the interpretation of primary and secondary sources. Graded over 1,000 exams over the course of four semesters, always within appropriate timetables given by lead professors. Worked with over 400 students, providing office hours and one-on-one research and writing assistance when needed.

 Processed, prepped, delivered to in-house and outside vendors digitization/preservation labs, and quality-checked over 10,000 paper materials to scan for the public to access research materials. Created metadata for all folders sent for digitization (both in-house and outside vendors), managing an extensive database of records.  Prepared historical information for the creation of interpretive materials for display and dissemination regarding archival materials, including material culture within the collection. Worked with the Water Sources Archivist and other archival assistants on curation planning.

Colorado State University

 Supported the teaching, research, and scholarship activities of the faculty and students by assisting with special projects, such as organizing, processing, and cataloguing the departmental library materials into a comprehensive student reading room. Collected, edited, and published department student, staff, and faculty news items on various platforms, including social media, department website, and an annual print and electronic department newsletter. Maintained a database of current alumni contact information.

 Recommended by graduate Historic Preservation Methods course professor, Dr. Sarah Payne, to the City of Fort Collins to fill this position after my performance in her class and familiarity with the project. Our Historic Preservation Methods course had the City of Fort Collins as a client and produced 20 Determinations of Eligibility (DOEs) 1403 forms for The Alta Vista Historic Landscape District. Property Evaluations: Oversaw the completion of over 40 property evaluations and Determinations of Eligibility (DOEs) and National Register of Historic Places nominations including 1403s and one 1404 form for The Alta Vista Historic Landscape District for the City of Fort Collins on a team with two other interns. Reviewed and crosschecked existing research on the 20 DOEs that the Historic Preservation Methods course produced. Researched, photographed, created maps, and determined historic property significance for the remaining 23 structures within The Alta Vista Historic Landscape District within an appropriate timetable.  Accessed and used Compass, the Colorado Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation cultural resource database. Based on previous experience on the project through the Historic Preservation Methods course, the City of Fort Collins asked me to facilitate two neighborhood meetings with the residents and property owners within The Alta Vista Historic Landscape District. Communicated the City of Fort Collins historic property management plan.

 Managed a database of 2,500 entries of Music Prep School family contacts and course registration records. Assisted the director in performing and/or overseeing a variety of associated administrative, fiscal, staff support, and planning activities, including patron/customer service on the phone, written communication, and in person. Coordinated with the families and children who attend the school through building, launching, and troubleshooting online registrations in the MPS MarketPlace online store using basic HTML coding.
