I am currently the development officer for the public participation network (PPN) in Kilkenny. I am responsible for implementing a government directive of public participation. I facilitate the links and communication between Community groups and the Local Authority. I support 27 PPN representatives to engage with committees and communicate their reports to over 200 member groups. I organise public meeting and manage the member database. I communicate other information on issues and grants to member groups and manage the website including producing e-news letters.

Responsible for the Management and development of a Dept. of Defence and Local Authority funded voluntary based service. The Civil Defence is a support service to the principal response agencies I.e. the Gardai, HSE and Local Authority in the case of Major Emergencies and supports community based activities with medical cover and safety boats. My role includes the recruitment, retention and development of volunteers in several disciplines including land and river search and rescue, flood response, severe weather response and medical cover. I am responsible for the management of certified training courses, all duties and coordination of activities, budget, management of fleet, equipment and premises.

Waterford

I supervised a 15 participant special drugs task force drugs rehabilitation scheme for 15 young stabilised drug users. I was responsible for programme development, training, education and sourcing/ supervising work placements. I completed individual learning plans and tailored programming to individual needs. This was both challenging and rewarding

Engaging and supporting long term unemployed learners on the Tourism and Leisure FETAC Level 5 Momentum training programme. Creating lesson plans, resources and individual learning plans ILP with the learners. Supporting the work of the other tutors.

I Have developed a new of programmes of activities for the development of ex-prisoners and offenders to facilitate lifestyle changes and reduce recidivism. I oversee the day to day activities of a busy project including the management of a social enterprise craft business.

Facilitator of the social and health education and contemporary issues curriculum for the Leaving Certificate Applied. Worked with young people with varying needs in a therapeutic way in a challenging environment.

I spent 3 years as a Uniformed Response Team Officer and and 3 years as a plain clothes officer on various squads. I was a highly trained sexual offenses officer. My role was varied and I deal with all levels of crime. During this time I became skilled in a variety of areas and developed excellent interpersonal skills.
