My first duty station was the 34th General Hospital in Augsburg, Germany where I worked in the Emergency Room, Outpatient Clinic, and the Allergy and Immunization Clinic. My second duty station was at Kenner Army Community Hospital in Ft. Lee, VA. Combined responsibilities for both duty stations were: drawing blood, starting IV's, setting up sterile fields for suturing, assisting during suturing, wound care, monitoring cardiac patients, performing EKG's, assisting in many areas of patient care, working unsupervised in the Allergy and Immunization Clinic calculating dosages and giving shots, taught a class to the 34th General Hospital staff on immunizations, prompt patient care, greeting patients and entering their information into the hospital computer system, trained new medics in Emergency Room procedures.
