Marketing and Sales Director level insights without the cost of a full time hire. I began my career in 2003 as employee #2 in a startup that provided forensic IT services. At the point of joining, the company had yet to generate any revenue. My brief was simple: “find some customers.” Combining practical, academic insight with hard work and an ability to identify and seize opportunities, the business soon grew, with turnover reaching nearly £2 million turnover. During my tenure I built both the outbound sales and marketing teams, managed the higher value accounts, and continued to win new business. On joining the Board of Directors in 2009 I completed the Institute of Directors Certificate in Company Direction. I held a board-level position as Commercial Director until 2012. Throughout this time, I suffered with a chronic autoimmune disease, with several hospital admissions. A series of life-saving surgery began in 2011, at this point I took a step back to consider my next move, which resulted in founding KO Consulting.The surgery was life-changing; it’s where my grit, determination and enthusiasm for life stem from. For the last ten years I have provided strategic sales and marketing services to a variety of businesses, starting in professional services and moving into FMCG, Digital Transformation, and ecommerce.Coronavirus saw another change in direction. In 2020 I co-founded a non-profit, Eat Well MCR, providing meals to people in need across Greater Manchester. Between April 2020 and March 2023 we have delivered over 75,000 meals. I have taken the knowledge gained in ecommerce and tech and applied it to marketing strategies for various hospitality businesses including Tampopo and Hello Oriental.
