Kathleen Trainor has over twenty-five years of experience in business in both the private and non-profits sectors. Kathleen is entrepreneurial by nature, and she combines her wide range of skills, knowledge, experiences, and creative big-picture strategic project management skills to her business performance.For the past eighteen years, Kathleen has led the evolution and growth of Tourism Barrie, Barrie & Areas Destination Marketing Organization. She has used her skills and knowledge to develop strategic marketing programs to promote Barrie & Area’s tourism industry. Kathleen’s strengths are to bring ideas and creative solutions to the table to build partnerships amongst stakeholders and industry leaders. Her world travels and cross-cultural experiences have given her a positive attitude toward change, new environments, the ability to relate to people of different cultures and circumstances and maintain an open mind. Kathleen has lived and travelled extensively around the world. In her youth, she lived in three different countries in Latin America. Kathleen fulfilled a life-long goal and travelled for two years backpacking through Asia following the Silk Road, which included motorcycling through India and trekking through the Himalayan Mountains to finally reach the Great Wall of China. Kathleen also took her adventures down through Southeast Asia to reach the Great Barrier Reef. During her sojourn, Kathleen acquired knowledge and experience important to conducting business in this multicultural country and the global economy. Kathleen lives, works, and plays in the Greater Barrie area and is usually found enjoying the great outdoors and appreciating Canada’s natural beauty.Specialties:Destination Management and Marketing.
