Note: This is a personal account. Views and commentary are my own.I conduct research, design models and tools, write reports, and work with Forrester clients all over the world to help them shine and succeed with content strategy and operations. Speciality areas include localization/regionalization, sales enablement (also support and channel partner enablement), taxonomy/metadata, modular content, content impact and reporting, compliance, and change management. Forrester helps business and technology leaders use customer obsession to accelerate growth. That means putting the customer at the center of everything you do: leadership, strategy, and operations. Becoming a customer-obsessed organization requires change — it requires being bold. We give business and technology leaders the confidence to put boldness into action and to succeed. To do my job, I draw on 25+ years of experience of revolutionizing content ecosystems in life sciences and high tech. It drives me crazy when people say content isn't strategic. A company that values growth had better apply the same level of strategic thinking to content and information that they do to IT, HR, and operations. All of these share the same status as threads that run throughout the organization and affect everything in their path. You can see in my work experience section that my teams and partners followed that thread everywhere and took a systems-based approach to everything we found, fixing the system and not just the symptom. Quality systems, sales enablement, global and regional marketing, supply chain, marketing resource management, global business process, corporate strategy, support systems, enterprise content management, UI/UX, and so much more. Content operations matters EVERYWHERE.Along the way I've had the most insanely fantastic teams and partners. One of the best things in the world is having the power to unlock people's potential and by doing that, setting up the organization to succeed now, and in one to three years, and in five to ten years, and beyond. The people who have come through my organizations are like comets, blazing trails in hundreds of different directions, changing their organizations and even helping change the world. Just thinking of having been part of that is both humbling and one of the best feelings ever.
