Kathleen Pierce completed her Ph.D. in art history at Rutgers University. Her research considers intersections of art and medicine in the nineteenth- and twentieth-century French empire. She teaches courses on nineteenth-century art and visual culture, the history of photography, and art and medicine, among others.
