'It's in your blood' was a comment from a senior nurse on my first job as a staff nurse. She was referring to my passion for giving good care to patients. This 'passion in my blood' has driven my career, from the age of 16 I have worked in healthcare - from work-experience, to healthcare assistant, to staff nurse, midwife, project manager for South Central SHA; patient experience manager across a wide geographical area in NHS England; Associate Director of quality and safeguarding for two CCGs and now Head of quality for Mental Health and Learning Disabilities in Cheshire CCG. - Making sure that the patient voice is heard at all levels of the system- Holding the system to account and supporting to deliver better health and better care- supporting and delivering programmes to engage and empower staff and patients to improve quality of care. I am creative and enjoy working collaboratively. I work as part of a team, I believe in delivering and leading through networks, person-centred care and supporting across the system to improve care. It’s an exciting time to be working for the NHS when we are focusing on working together (health and social care) to improve services and empower individuals of the most vulnerable groups, such as those with additional needs, Learning Disability and Autism. Leading change with compassion, courage, competence, care, with better communication and commitment of partners (CNO 6c's) is what motivates me.
