1. Prepares and Reviews federal and state income tax returns for individuals, businesses, real estate and exempt organizations,including the most complex2. Handles federal, state and local tax audits3. Acts as a resource for tax staff, senior tax accountants, tax supervisors and partners4. Prepares research memoranda, written correspondence/guidance, and other documents for submission to the IRS or other taxing authorities5. Directs and coordinates tax planning for less complex client situations6. Assists accounting and consulting staff members in client meetings7. Develops and models an understanding of firm philosophy, values and tax opinions8. Reviews tax accruals and associated working papers9. Analyzes IRS notices and drafts responses10. Reviews IRS notice responses prepared by other tax personnel11. Represents clients before the IRS12. Manages tax department administrative projects13. Assumes the responsibility for the smooth flow of tax returns and continues improvement efforts14. Contributes to the client service team by producing quality work with quick turnaround and attentive service15. Establishes good working relationships with all partners and staff members16. Makes presentations to internal staff and external customers and prospects17. Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and imagination in approaching work18. Responsible for establishing engagement letters and all related compliance framework19. Leads tax software and technology process development and enhancements20. Trains and supervises staff; reviews and evaluates their work21. Coordinates the variety of training related to tax areas22. Facilitates in-house tax training
