Designing, developing and testing supporting electronic and mechanical components for our micron-scale NMR sensor.

Worked in an international team of four to identify trends and build machine learning models for a database of cable aging data. Created data visualizations for easy reference on cable properties for over 1000 combinations of cables and condition monitoring tests.

* Analyzed data as part of small team for a ppm-level measurement of the antiproton magnetic moment, then led a major experimental upgrade to our electromagnetic trap in preparation for a new measurement with 10,000x more precision.* Installed, then operated and troubleshot for 5 years a test setup composed of more than 50 test and measurement devices including spectrum analyzers, signal generators and similar equipment.* Wrote LabView software to automate device control for more than a dozen test test devices. Integrated multiple legacy software suites plus an SQL database into a single user-friendly suite for operation of the experiment.* For the upgrade, calculated electromagnetic fields generated by different electrode designs, simulated particle motions in those fields and found the optimal electrode dimensions to generate up to 36x more signal. Also developed a circuit model for our cryogenic radiofrequency amplifiers (1-100 MHz) and an improved design.* Designed the more than 30 improved parts needed for upgrade in CAD programs, drafted machine drawings and PCB gerber files and coordinated with shops that fabricated the parts to as low as 5 micron tolerances.* Assembled new electrode stack, installed it inside the high vacuum enclosure and rewired experimental apparatus to accommodate the new parts. Tested radiofrequency signal propagation into the new electrodes using VNA and spectrum analyzer.
