I am working as an Accounts Administrator for New Zealand Certified Builders Recently My husband and I completed walking the South Island section of the Te Araroa trail. I resigned my employment as Accounts /Administrator for CarbonEES® in Wellington, employed nearly 9 years from Feb 2014 to December 2022, so my husband and I could walk the trail this summer. At CarbonEES® I was responsible for Administration, Accounts, Payroll and Website management.In this role I was also involved in many areas of the business, including building a new website in WIX and creating a fortnightly newsletter in Mailchimp. I prepared our annual carbon report ready for auditing, proof-read/edited client carbon reports and software contracts, created a blog fortnightly (with input from colleagues), and much more.During Covid lockdowns I realised that as much as I enjoy the office and team environment, I am very focused and able to be very effective working from home too, and enjoy this just as much.Previously, I have done a variety of interesting work, from working as an industrial oil chemist, research paint chemist and quality control supervisor, to commercial property manager and administrator. I have been working with an accountant to get clients annual accounts and tax returns completed. I do the regular admin, accounts and annual accounts for my husband's building business and our residential rental property business too. I like to learn new things, and look for better ways of doing things.Outside of work, I enjoy getting into the bush, either tramping or mountain-biking; reading a good novel or autobiography; growing veges in our garden; and spending time with family and friends. In my role at CarbonEES®, and before that too, issues of our environment have been a real focus and concern.
