Kathryn Parsons is founder and co-CEO of Decoded, a world leader in technology education, delivering digital literacy and skills for clients that span the Global 2,000, policymakers and small businesses across every industry and geography.Their workshops are sought by organisations seeking to rapidly rewire their digital literacy, culture and skills, in areas including data decision-making, artificial intelligence, data ethics, cyber security and beyond. Decoded's academies and bootcamps upskill and re-skill workforces in data analytics, software development, data engineering and product management.Kathryn founded the business in 2011 with a credit card and mission to teach anyone to code in a day. Driven by a personal desire to learn quickly and to remove the fear and jargon which made technology impenetrable. She campaigned for coding as a mandatory on the UK National Curriculum. It was successfully introduced in 2014, making the UK one of the first countries in the world to do so. Since then, millions of children have been introduced to computational thinking in the classroom. In her spare time Kathryn writes a column for The Times on technology and supports a number of charities and female entrepreneurship initiatives including HM Treasury's Rose Review into Female Entrepreneurship, The Prince’s Trust Women Supporting Women and The Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the Year Award. She was awarded an MBE from The Queen for Services to Education.
