In my part-time work with Lone Buffalo, I sort through information on behalf of pharmaceutical companies. I read through articles on public health, drug pricing, legal issues, and FDA approval on behalf of Abbvie and Abbott Laboratories. I analyze whether or not an article will be of interest to these companies and add the valuable articles to a list to be read. In this work I have used Factiva, a news aggregator/database, and the online publishing system for the list itself. I have continued working part-time weekends through my first year of law school. When I first began editing clipsheets, I focused on banking and financial instruments, curating stories for Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, and Deutsche Bank.

As a summer law clerk, I did research on policy positions and proposals. I typically worked to identify any potential conflicts between state law and proposed policies, but also noted important interactions between policies and constitutional law.

I began this work as a part-time summer canvasser and continued to work with CWA during summers and winters when I was not in school, eventually taking a full-time position after graduation. As a canvasser for CWA, I knocked on doors and communicated with contacts, encouraging and organizing community involvement. They also offered me the opportunity to travel and canvass with other HBC nonprofits. I spent two weeks in the summer of 2014 working on a ban of hydrofracking in New York state with the Syracuse office of Citizens Campaign for the Environment. In the summer of 2015, I spent three weeks working with Ohio Citizen Action, fighting to protect ratepayers from having to shoulder a consumer bailout of polluting, outdated coal plants. At the time, I was the most senior manager in the office aside from the staff director and therefore handled much of the responsibility within the office. Before being promoted to Senior Field Manager, I spent three weeks in Denver working with the Blue Bench, canvassing in the area to raise funds for and provide information about the services the Blue Bench provides to survivors of sexual assault. During this trip, I solidified the skills necessary to become an SFM and to fill in for our canvass director when she was out of the office. As a field manager, I had a wider set of responsibilities, including showing prospective hires how we work in the field, working with trainees, providing guidance as a member of the senior staff, and running crews, which entails being responsible for cross-checking monetary contributions, discussing daily performance with canvassers, and signing off on the crew's financial and other statistics before they are brought to the Canvass Director. As a senior field manager, I interviewed candidates for the job, reviewed resumes of applicants, and provided leadership in the office to trainees, staff, and other managers.

I called Common Cause members regarding volunteer opportunities as the New York staff worked to establish ethics reform in Albany. Volunteers made calls to voters in key counties, urging them to contact their legislators regarding the three key policies that made up Common Cause's Ethics Pledge. This work utilized the VAN (Voter Activation Network) extensively, where I recorded all of the call data.In addition, I did position research on state legislators, so that Common Cause members could be up to date on their representatives' stances regarding ethics issues. A new limited project came up following widespread voter dissatisfaction with the New York primary; Common Cause was part of a coalition requesting and sorting through voter feedback on reform. I handled many of these e-mails, and legally cleared quotes and photos for use in campaign literature.

As a student worker at NYU, I processed information from the alumni database regarding events and interests, and operated as an administrative assistant by answering phone calls and dealing with desk coverage when the head admin aide was out.

In this work at my summer job, I was responsible for a variety of odd jobs around the library, from re-shelving books to doing inventory to putting in orders for new texts to add to the collection. I worked here three consecutive summers.
