I am a reading interventionist at Salt Lake City School District. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Southern Utah University in December 2021, where I developed research and leadership skills through various projects and activities. I am passionate about helping students overcome their academic and personal challenges and feel empowered to pursue their goals. In my current role, I work with students who have diverse needs and backgrounds, providing them with individualized and group instruction using various reading intervention programs. I also monitor their progress, behavior, and social skills, and direct them to appropriate resources and support. Additionally, I collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to ensure students' success and well-being. Previously, I was an after-school program mentor at Open Arms Youth and Adult Services, where I planned and implemented activities for children under the agency's care and guardianship, and mentored them on their homework and personal goals. I have also worked as a writing fellow at Southern Utah University, where I tutored undergraduate students in writing literature review papers and navigating research database systems. Through these experiences, I have gained valuable skills in reliability, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. I am eager to join an organization that values diversity, inclusion, and community, where I can contribute to its mission and vision with my skills and expertise.
