Recently employed as the Director of Healthy Families DeKalb County, Children’s Home + Aid. I led a multidisciplinary staff in the administration and delivery of an intensive mental health program. As the director, I oversaw recruitment, supervision, and evaluation of staff. Provided input and controlled budget, operating costs and all other fiscal management task. Managed grant activities including collection of data, preparation and dissemination of program reports. Directed program development and expansion activities including identifying funding opportunities and grant proposal preparation. Assured provision of training for all staff to ensure ongoing professional development. Provided oversight of data entry for the purpose of program evaluation, reporting and accreditation. Successfully completed national Accreditation. While engaging with clients I assisted them in creating therapeutic relationships, conducting assessments, establishing relevant therapeutic goals, and selecting appropriate interventions. Worked with clients to diminish stressors, identify motivations, build support systems, and increase functioning. Coordinated, planned and implemented parent support groups. Experienced in conducting group therapy and leading psycho-educational classes on reducing anxiety, understanding depression, managing anger, and creating healthy family systems. I am an excellent communicator and client advocate, who is experienced at working with diverse age groups and socio-economic populations.

Duties included providing strategic leadership, monitoring service programs, and providing oversight of activities in the field for Ben Gordon Center. I served as the initial point of contact for the implementation of evidence based practices, provision of technical assistance, compliance issues, fiscal appropriateness, and program development and enhancement. Acted as the liaison between community concerns related to mental health prevention and Ben Gordon Center. I had been successful at accruing grant funding by investigating grant proposals, assembling grant materials, and writing grant applications. Actively involved in providing direct service primary and secondary prevention programming to 9 school districts in DeKalb County. Directed the Prevention and Education team which consisted of all employment and staff management activities.

Responsibilities consisted of screening, intake and matching of all volunteers and child referrals. Created and edited monthly newsletters. Maintained a client and volunteer database. Developed volunteer training manuals. Created and taught volunteer training sessions. Implemented recruitment activities and public relations strategies. Brainstormed new ideas for Fund Development, including special events and fund raisers. Evaluated programs’ need annually for Capital Budget purposes. Supervised and evaluated case managers and interns assigned to the program.

Previously worked as a Dietitian and Nutrition Educator. Assignments included evaluated nutritional needs and services for maternal infant and child clients. Identified individuals with high risk medical and nutritional need and initiated appropriate referrals and intervention. Worked as an intake evaluator and assessor for the Healthy Moms Healthy Kids case management program. Offered nutritional education services to all clients for the DeKalb County Health Department, with duties including prenatal education, telephone support, and nutritional consultation. Assisted in providing nutrition advice and educations to professionals and allied health staff. Conducted nutrition and food service educational programs for individuals, families, and groups. Developed menu and recipe according to individual nutrient needs and medically prescribed diets.
