I had the honor and opportunity to have my father live with me as he was nearing the end of his life cycle. It was the best of experiences and one I would not trade for anything. Father and I grew so close during this time and I made it my mission to show him a nice time everyday -regardless of the circumstances. Which can be very challenging- I was sued by my blood brother throughout this period. And for an additional year and a half after my father died. I casted that care and focused on my dad. He died in my arms and at home. That is all that mattered to my father and surely to me. He, as many of our aging FAMILY members in this country, fear very much being put into and left in a nursing home or other facility. Unacceptable IMO if a family can keep such a member of the family at home. This is not always possible. However very much a sign of the times that this takes place at a logarithmically increasing number.

I was offered the Safety position at the Brewery in Tampa shortly after graduation. I was in charge of the safety programs at the brewery as well as accident investigations and many other Safety/IH related tasks. IE: making certain oxygen levels were appropriate for our porters to enter the vats after brewing to sweep out the beechwood chips. I left this position to attend medical school at the University of South Florida. Big decision - might have been considered further.
