As head of the AARP Fraud Watch Network, I am responsible for educating older adults about protecting their assets from scams and fraud. I manage a $14 million budget, five direct reports, and engage a cross-enterprise team of more than 25 colleagues. I am committed to AARP's efforts to eliminate financial crime against older adults by focusing on structural reform. I advise the advocacy team on developing legislative plans, serve as a frequent media spokesperson, and represent the organization at professional conferences and in consumer education programs. • Developed nationally recognized consumer protection program.• Bolstered consumer engagement by building and managing industry and federal agency partnerships.• Engaged colleagues across the enterprise to create and maintain a single point of view on consumer fraud, which contributed to national recognition of AARP as a leader in consumer fraud issues.• Grew budget by $4M by successfully pitching and building new initiatives to 1) commit AARP to lead the way in changing how society views financial crimes, 2) eliminate gift cards as a payment method in financial crimes, and 3) pilot a program to provide emotional support to victims.

I created and managed a six-figure communication consulting business that specialized in both B2C and B2B communication strategy and content.
