CurrentUS-born who founded Empowerment International (EI) in 1998 while working as an engineer at Intel in Costa Rica. What started as a small hobby of helping working children obtain access to education and stay off the streets, grew organically into a program of home visits and, school monitoring and assistance with school supplies. Today Empowerment International now works with 310 at risk youth in Nicaragua from primary school to the University in three communities and includes additional activities such as tutoring, computer classes, English, Sports programs including mountain biking and soccer, photography, art, and cultural dance.
