At the core of my career has been two parts of the same mission: Nurturing Organizational Growth. The first part is enabling growth by identifying opportunities, analyzing their impact, formulating strategies to achieve those growth goals, and implementing and refining those strategies to make them a success. Everyone loves that part of growth since margins, sales, and market share go up. The second part is dealing with growing pains. Expansion means that structures, processes, technology, and employees need to be able to adapt to increased volume of activity and support. Change management, HR policy creation and administration, coaching and mentoring, and adopting new technology take time and focused efforts - otherwise the pain of the growth will slowly diminish the benefits that the growth was supposed to have in the first place.
