I am an adjunct faculty researcher in the Environmental Studies Program and I coordinate the Tribal Climate Change Project in collaboration with the USDA Forest Service Pacific Northwest Research Station. The project focuses on building an understanding of the needs, lessons learned, and opportunities that American Indian tribes and Alaska Native communities have in planning for the physical effects of climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions (http://tribalclimate.uoregon.edu/). Through this project, I facilitate the Pacific Northwest Tribal Climate Change Network, which includes over 75 participants representing tribes, tribal organizations, public agencies, and non-governmental groups throughout the Northwest and from across the country. I have a Masters degree in Community and Regional Planning from the University of Oregon and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Haiti from 1996 to 1999.

Sustainable Northwest's Policy Program is focused on regional organizing, congressional education, building alliances with diverse interest groups, and providing policy-related resources for rural community leaders involved in natural resource management issues. We translate lessons learned in local community sustainability efforts into policy and institutional reform at the regional and national levels.

Resource Innovations is a research collaboration between the Resource Innovation Group and the University of Oregon Institute for a Sustainable Environment. Resource Innovation Group is an independent non-profit organization.Resource Innovations offers research, education, and technical assistance on sustainable development, community capacity and wildfire protection and on climate change issues. The Community Capacity and Environment program is primarily focused on building capacity in rural and underserved communities to address wildfire protection.
