About Stacey W.
With 20 years experience in recreation programming, I have worked in almost every department, but my passion is with Special Events. I always tell the story that when I was little I wanted to be in the Macy's Day Parade (yes, a Rockett), now I want to plan it!I was very happy with my position in Scottsdale and loved Fountain Hills, but I am always looking for ways to expand and grow professionally. I volunteer with a lot of professional organizations that have helped mold me into the professional I am today. If I could describe my planning style: safety first, organized and resourceful! After I got my my MPA and my Event Certificate from ASU, my goals are to become a NRPA Soutwest Pacific Representative, and if they will have me back – become a professor in Recreation and Tourism Departement at ASU.In the mean time, I’ve written two books 📚 about Parks and Recreation; and hope to see one or both hit the shelves before 2024 😘I also enjoying an incredibly rewarding job as a Director of a Preschool and as a Special Education Preschool teacher 👩🏼🏫.Specialties: Planning special events, custom service, teen programming and public speaking. I’m also good at grant writing, vendor coordination, volunteer programming, sponsorship and safety.

Lead Preschool Teacher
Teaching is very rewarding. I'd like to think I'm helping little people to become the best people they can be, lowering our impact on the earth, lowering the obesity rates and giving people the tools they need to be healthy functioning adults in our society. I have a lot of passion and a lot of knowledge, and I love to work with children and teens - what a great place to start.
Volunteer Coordinator
I began as a regular volunteer at that the Fiesta Bowl Parade and would occasionally volunteer at another FB event such as the Pig Skin Cookoff, the World's Largest College Tailgate Party, the Hole In One, etc. Eventually, I was asked to fill the shoes as the Volunteer Coordinator, then the position became a Chair position, then an Executive Committee Chair position and I was honored to be a part of the transition and still a part of the Exec. Committee today!
