I worked at J for two years, within a ten month period I received three promotions. I looked forward being the first one in the doors in the morning, I take great pride in my work. The passion I have for the winery, the stories, the experiences, the products, the knowledge, that is what allowed me to succeed at my job. My job being that I was the voice to share the story of J with the world.A day at J was never the same and never a dull moment. While working at J I upheld a level of expertise to conduct luxury sales and experiences while also maintaining relationships with our members and customers. I also had to maintain an organized, clean, positive, stocked, and efficient work space. When arriving in the morning to J I would set up the front/main bar then help any other venue in needs. There is a total of 6 areas/venues that function during service. After setting up the venues we would all attend our floor meeting, everyone who was working to provide that day would attend to know who was assigned to what venue, what our daily and monthly goal was. As well as the status of our performances. In addition we would discuss the breakdown of the day and how we would execute it. I was often assigned to work multiple venues throughout the day. Some days during the week we would only see twenty people in the day, where weekends or special events we would see hundreds. Every customer counts and it is all in how you handle yourself.Sunset Magazine named J Vineyards & Winery the “Best Winery Tasting Room in the West.” For USA Today we were voted second best in the nation for our food and wine pairings. Travelers Choice voted J Vineyards #18 of 160 things to do in Healdsburg. As I take pride in my work, so does the team I was fortunate enough to be apart of. I always say "Teamwork makes the dream work."

Korbel Champagne Cellars has more stories then any other place I have ever worked at. Korbel was founded in 1882, my job was to use my voice and bring the stories back to life, to share them with each individual who visited the historic grounds. I was to greet customers promptly and courteously when in the tasting room, while conducting historic tours, or when selling merchandise. Guiding customers to wines they enjoy, while providing knowledge of the products and history of Korbel made the tasting experience all the better. I also had the responsibility of setting up and cleaning up daily operations, special events, and tours, while also stocking wine and retail merchandise.

While working in this position I had to use my voice to greet potential customers and educate them about the many benefits of solar power. Once I had their attention I would then see if they qualified for the services that our company offered. Once they realized the benefits, if they qualified and they were still interested, then I would arrange an in-home customer consultation with a Field Energy Consultant. I had to be able to adapt to the environment I was working in as well as be able to identify potential customers regardless of the setting. I was able to pull information from the customer and enter it within the equipment provided, I had to be able to do this efficiently and effectively.

When working in this position I had to have the ability to acquire a new product knowledge in a timely manner and on a daily basis provide information to customers and clients. Each customer I would strive to make a connection with and make their experience something they would remember so that way they would become a returning customer. On top of that I would have to have an organized and friendly customer service environment.

Working in a fast-paced environment teaches you how to become efficient and to have good time management. This deli had lines out the door every single weekend. I worked the cash register and how to maintain accurate billing, I also had to prepare customers order in a timely and concentrated manner, as well as stock inventory shelves in store room with attention to detail. Each order I took I had to be able to make as well. The team that I worked with here all shared the same roles and we worked together in order to handle the crowds in a very small building.
