Studying Computer Science

Combining the worlds of Tech and Finance, my experience here was broad. I developed solutions to real-world problems in an innovative, agile software development environment for major clients while also gaining insight into important business aspects. I was fully trained in Forex Trading and Finance Basics on the job, and was also introduced to platforms such as Jira, Maven, Eclipse and Jenkins. I participated in daily Standup/Scrum meetings where I was expected to update development and testing teams on my progress and also had the opportunity to improve my Linux skills by maintaining my own remote environment.

I was on-the-job trained as a seasonal Sales Consultant in the Blanchardstown branch during my employment. I was able to perfect my selling and customer relation skills while also adapting to the smooth running of a multi-chain company. I gained some interesting insights into the world of luxury goods including the manufacturing of Swiss-made Tag Heuer watches and the wide selection of engagement and wedding bands of different makings. As a Jewelry Consultant we were also trained to complete minor Watch and jewelry repairs. We were individually incentivised with a weekly commission target which increased as the season progressed and encouraged to work as a team with monthly group prizes.

During my employment here I learned vital organizational and correspondence skills. I have experience using the Sage Accounting System and the Revenue online service from my employment here. I also learned how to carry out tasks such as bank reconciliations and expense reports.

I was part of the Christmas staff here where I learned vital communication and interpersonal skills as well as how to operate a till. It also provided me with experience in using a clock-in-clock-out system.

During my time here I gained vital customer service and organizational skills. I gained an insight into appointment booking systems and management. I was also entrusted with opening and closing the premesis on a regular basis during my employment here.
