I’ve always had a passion for healthcare and helping people but not so much for blood. So, I found another way through health communications, ACO consulting, market research and health policy. After 9 years in the healthcare industry in Philadelphia, Camden NJ, and New Orleans, I can say that I’ve both learned and seen a lot and utilized my skill set in many different ways. Determining the needs of the community and identifying solutions to help is the problem-solving mindset that fulfills me not just professionally but also personally and is the drive that keeps me going. In the spring of 2023, I earned my Masters in Public Health, specializing in Health Policy and Management. Through my course work I learned that policy will not only continue to allow me to problem-solve but take it one step further to effect and create change. After gaining over 250 hours of hands-on experience towards improving maternal health outcomes in Louisiana, in addition to the course work, I realized how important supporting and advocating for policy change is. My goal is to continue to fight for health justice and health equity so that people can live safer, happier, and healthier lives.
