Field Artist
CurrentIn my current role as a Field Artist for Big Car Collaborative, I help to foster community engagement and inclusivity through the organization’s Spark initiative, a place making space used to promote creativity and community in downtown Indy. At Spark, I work at the Welcome Trailer where I engage directly with visitors to provide them with information about ongoing events and workshops. Additionally, I work to maintain a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring the safety of all attendees. As a Field Artist, I also create various social media posts to promote events and workshops being held at Spark on Monument Circle. For example, I designed a series of videos to showcase postcards that visitors at Spark have personalized and sent all across the globe. These videos helped to promote our Postcard Project as well as showcase the community’s participation and creativity. Through this role, I was asked to design postcards for both Spark and Downtown Indy Inc. These postcards are distributed both at Spark and Downtown Indy's affiliated hotels across Indianapolis.Through my experience as a Field Artist, I have been able to increase engagement in the Spark program as well as foster creative experiences for the greater Indianapolis community.
