I contributed to the development of the organization in partnership with its founder.

I conducted research and drafted reports on the provision, monitoring, and oversight of language access services within state and local social service agencies. I also researched and analyzed state regulations to the provision of linguistically and culturally competent services for early childhood education and care.

I contributed to research initiatives related to immigrant integration, language access, and digital equity at the local, state, and national scale through quantitative and qualitative policy analysis.

I designed the Caucus’ first cross-programmatic role to identify intersections between the environment and housing and community development programs at the Caucus. In this role, I helped secure over $500,000 in grant funds from public and private donors to support projects in sustainability and diversity, equity, and inclusion. I also advocated for and led the development of a monthly working group to better understand the barriers to operationalizing racial equity in local government.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES• Fostered relationships with diverse local and regional stakeholders.• Identified policy priorities and technical assistance needs of member municipalities and developed programs to address them. • Coordinated and facilitated quarterly meetings of the Age-Friendly Communities Collaborative and Diversity Issues Task Force.• Developed case studies of promising local practices.• Contributed to the Equity portion of the first Climate Action Plan for the Chicago Region, developed in partnership with the International Urban Cooperation and Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy.

I managed and mentored a team of 12 young sustainability professionals serving diverse communities around the Chicago region.

I served as the first full-time sustainability coordinator at the City of Highland Park in the first cohort of the Chicago region’s Greenest Region Corps program.
