Conceiving and setting up an art programme for a charity, not–for-profit members club and employment academy. My idea was to create a revenue stream through art sales and raise the profile of the organisation. In addition to a programme of temporary exhibitions and talks, I have created a permanent collection with donations from artists and exclusive editions produced by leading contemporary artists with 100% of sales going to the charity• Developing strategic frameworks and securing sponsorship • Collaborating with galleries for temporary exhibitions: such as Stephen Friedman Gallery, White Cube, Spruth Magers• Setting up an the production and sale of editions, inviting artist to create limited edition prints exclusively for the charity including David Shrigley, Jake & Dinos Chapman, Peter Blake• Negotiating the terms, commissioning artists and overseeing the production and installation of work • Building a permanent collection based on donations from artists such as Tracey Emin, Yinka Shonibare MBE• Co-ordinating every aspect of putting on an exhibition; selecting artists, drawing up agreements, collating installation plans, working closely with gallery technicians, managing transportation, insurance and storage of art • Creating and managing the exhibition schedule • Organising a programme of art talks with artists and curators such as Doug Fishbone, Peter Liversidge, Iwona Blazwick, Hans Ulrick Obrist, Hew Locke, Jeremy Deller• Maintaining diplomatic relations with buyers, artists, galleries, guest curators, stakeholders, sponsors and press • Generating sales for artists and overseeing this process• Managing the art programme budget and devising and implementing a system with the finance team• Speaking in public and conducting art tours for members• Organising and overseeing all private views and events in conjunction with the events team• Taking employment participants to exhibitions and securing passes to art fairs

Working for a commercial gallery and artist’s studio organized tri-weekly exhibitions, an annual eight-month artist residency program (four artists a year) and events such as regular film nights, poetry readings, life drawing classes, concerts and projects with the local community such as an art competition with the local primary school and interactive events • Planned the yearly program and selected artists to exhibit at the gallery• Dealt with all advertising, promotions, PR and marketing, including writing or editing press releases and booking advertisements in art journals and websites• Responsible for the day-to-day running of the gallery: invoicing, book-keeping, drawing up agreements, sales, vinyl, labels, price lists, updated the website, sending out regular e-invites, newsletters, handling social media • Ensured all contracts had been signed• Organised the installation and de-installation of work• Kept an up to date sales ledger and prepared invoices and ensured the delivery of sold work• Organised private views and events
