Programming by Children's Dispensary provides many different opportunities for clients with special needs. "A Place To Be Me" is a recreational activities for people with special needs. Many of our activities are often out in the community participating in different types of activities such as bowling, swimming or dining out with our friends. We also offer cooking classes, art classes, and music classes. "A Place To Be Me" provides an outlet for everyone to have a fun time and make new friends. "The Family Tree" is a new program that Children's Dispensary and Lotus Preschool are partnering to offer in January 2017. This program will offer parent child early intervention preschool classes as well as a supportive parents only group. The preschool classes will be facilitated with a Lead Preschool Teacher and an Occupational Therapist. The goal for these classes is to give parents tips and pointers on how to encourage learning and development in their own home. At each Nurture Night, we will feature a homemade tool to assist with daily life encounters at home with your child. The parents will make their own personalized tool to take home during this session. We hope to provide snacks and time for parents to communicate their concerns, support each other, and design different ideas as a community.
