Marketing Communications at Mellon Capital is responsible for building, maintaining and enhancing the brand of Mellon Capital via marketing collateral, events, PR, intranet and the external website, mcm.com. As a group, we support the firm's strategic initiatives by producing and designing all collateral, publications, audio webcasts, and any new materials developed by the Product Marketing team. My role as a Marketing Communications associate is to assist external and internal facing parties build presentations to be used in meetings. Working closely with sales, senior management, client service, consultant relations and strategists in producing standard and custom presentation materials, I am assisting to fulfill ad hoc marketing requests. In addition, my duties are to help maintain and coordinate with internal groups to perform monthly, quarterly and yearly updates to marketing materials.

As a group we managed the data that was used in portfolio management to develop the best strategies in investment banking. As a senior specialist, I worked to build and maintain successful business relationships with our portfolio management team. Simultaneously, I worked to organize corporate action information accross various internal systems for portfolio management utilization.

Our business function was to manage the assets of corporate level clients. More specifically, we followed through with the processing of both mandatory and voluntary corporate actions in the market. As a part of the event creation team, I retrieved, dispatched and assigned out the daily tasks while assisting the supervisor in overseeing processes by other specialists. In addition to performing daily functions, I served a role in training new employees and instilling motivation in the team.

As an intern with Corporate Sales, I had exposure to the lifecycle of a sale in corporate sponsorship and the relationship between an organization and its corporate partners. Aiding sales representatives with drafting sales proposals and assisting with the assembly of contracts and action plans were the primary source of the experience. Other roles included participating in the organization of game day events, as well as coordinating sponsor contests and clinics.
