Katie Phillips began her career in Entertainment PR at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, for the Pleasance Theatre’s press office. From there she spent over 5 years handling theatre and comedy tours for The Sarah Mitchell Partnership in Soho; working on campaigns for The Reduced Shakespeare Company, The Vagina Monologues, Bill Bryson’s Notes From a Small Island, as well as Ricky Gervais, The Jonathan Ross Show, Dara O Briain and Alan Carr. In 2006 she was approached by start up The PR Office to develop an entertainment department, which she built and grew to a team of five. Whilst there, highlights included Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday celebrations in London & New York, Ricky Gervais’ Extras DVD release for Universal, Tim Minchin’s Orchestra Tour, Live at the Apollo series 4 and Lead Balloon series 3. In 2011 Katie set up Katie Phillips PR (now KPPR). Upon launching, the business clients included Ricky Gervais & Omid Djalili whom the agency still work with today. KPPR has expanded beyond comedy and theatre and now handle a broad range of clients in the entertainment sector. Since 2017 Katie has been UK coordinator for the US based creative and Jewish charity, Reboot. In 2022 Katie was diagnosed with a rare type of thyroid cancer. She started a podcast called Talking with Cancer to help demystify her experience. She now interviews different guests each week who in same way are impacted by cancer, whether that's personally or professionally.
